Memory Foam
The temperature sensitivity of memory foam causes it to highly contour and mould around the part of the sleeper's body that's in contact with it. In addition, the sleeper may sink substantially into the foam. This can make moving on or getting up off the foam somewhat difficult. The thicker the pad, the more likely the sleeper will have difficulty moving. The elderly or people weakened from sickness may find moving on memory foam especially difficult.
Latex, Feather, and Fiber
These mattress topper types, unlike memory foam, generally do not offer much resistance to movement by the sleeper. As a result, they are usually easy to move around on or get up off.
