Remember

– Bodipedic comes in only one firmness. However, the thicker the Bodipedic model is, the less firm it tends to be. Most owners say that all thicknesses are medium-firm, but about 20 percent of owners say the mattress is soft.

– Overstock.com's policy is not to accept returns for memory foam beds that have been removed from the wrapping.

– As the Bodipedic mattress wears and ages, it will, llike all memory foam beds, become softer resulting in at least some loss of support, conformability, and comfort.

Bodipedic Mattress Ratings

The Bodipedic mattress ratings report below is based on at least 800 owner / consumer reviews of 8-, 10- and 12-inch thick models. The data was gathered using an unbiased, accurate methodology.

Owner satisfaction B 82% of Bodipedic mattress owners are satisfied with the product. By comparison, memory foam beds overall have 81% satisfaction, and the most popular memory foam bed, Tempurpedic, also has 81% satisfaction.
Durability / longevity C Durability / longevity should be considered no better than fair. While owner experience data on Bodipedic's life span is limited, the data available suggests an average life span of about five years. As the mattress wears, it will likely sag and become softer resulting in the loss of support and conformability (and often comfort). More expensive and higher density memory foam beds, such as Tempurpedic, tend to have better durability / longevity.
Price A- Bodipedic is priced $250-$600 for a queen size depending on mattress thickness. This makes Bodipedic a value-priced or entry-level memory foam mattress. Like other beds in this price range, it is not uncommon for Bodipedic to be used on a less-than-regular or long-term basis – such as by guests, college students or children.
Less pain B As is the case with memory foam mattresses in general, the Bodipedic performs well in regard to preventing and or relieving pain, including back, hip and shoulder pain. (See mattresses and pain relief for general analysis.)
Contours to body C+ The low-density memory foam that is used is only minimally weight- and temperature-sensitive resulting in fairly limited contouring and molding to the body.
Easy to move on B Owners report not sinking significantly into the low-density memory foam that is used in the Bodipedic. As a result, the mattress tends to be at least fairly easy to toss and turn on and to get up off.
Firmness variety D One firmness level is offered. However, the thicker the model is, the less firm it tends to be. The clear majority of consumers report all thicknesses to be medium-firm, but about 20% say their bed is soft.
Motion isolation B Motion isolation tends to be a strength for memory foam mattresses in general. A bed with good motion isolation isolates movement from one person so that the other person on the bed is not disturbed.
No initial odor / off gassing C "Off gassing" is the giving off of a chemical-like odor when the mattress is new. There is considerable variability in regard to whether, how strongly and for how long Bodipedic will off gas. About 8% of owners report a significant problem, which is about average for a memory foam bed. (See memory foam off gassing for more analysis.)
No sleeping hot B Fewer than 4% of owners complain of the mattress acting as a heat trap.
Good for sex C+ Memory foam bed owners are generally split on this issue. (See mattresses and sex for analysis).
No noise A The mattress is silent under all conditions.
Dust mite resistant C All mattress types can be home to large dust mite populations, but memory foam beds, including Bodipedic, may be home to fewer. See mattresses and dust mites for more information.
No rotating / flipping B- The Bodipedic is a one-sided / no-flip design. Some owners report flipping the mattress anyway and or rotating it to try to minimize sagging and softening.
Lightweight C+ The bed does not weigh as much as higher density / more expensive brands, such as Tempurpedic.
Warranty C- There is conflicting information on the length of Bodipedic's warranty. It may be as short as five years. A significant number of owners report difficulty making a claim.
Return policy D+ Overstock.com will usually not accept returns for memory foam mattresses that are taken out of their wrapping. (See returning a mattress: what you should know.)
Better Business Bureau (BBB) ratings A Sleep Innovations (maker of Bodipedic) currently has an "A" rating. It has had no complaints in the past three years.
