Indoor Shutters on Bedroom Windows to Reduce and Control Unwanted Outside Noise

Indoor shutters can be effective at reducing the amount of sound (and light) that enters through windows, making them well suited for the bedroom. As an added bonus, they also can improve the appearance of your windows from both the inside and outside. The main downside to indoor shutters is that they can be pricey.

Indoor shutters come in two types: traditional and plantation. Traditional shutters (also known as colonial-style shutters) have 1.25 inch-wide movable louvers. They are often used in traditional-style or colonial-style houses. Plantation shutters have 3-inch wide movable louvers. They are more modern in appearance than traditional shutters and can be used on almost any window.
