Hi, I'm Nick Robinson, creator of SleepLikeTheDead.com.
I thought a video of review would be more helpful than a written
review or photos, especially if you are in the market for
a new.
I've owned this fan for about two years, and I am very satisfied
with it. I use it primarily as a sleeping fan. In other words,
I use it for white noise to help drown out unwanted noises
that may disrupt my sleep. Of course, since it is a fan, it
also provides good air circulation.
The exact name of the fan is the Holmes Blizzard oscillating
stand fan, model number HASF99. Holmes
website.
Its height is adjustable. It can stand about 40 inches tall,
20 inches tall and can be ground height. At ground height
it could also be used as a desktop fan.
It collects alot of dust as probably all fans do. And on this
fan you can't clean the leading edges of the fan blades because
you can't take the front cover off to the best of my knowledge.
So you'll have to put up with some gunk on the fan's blades.
The fan is all plastic, except the pole is metal. Some people
may think all of the plastic makes the fan seem cheap and
low quality, but I don't get that impression.
In terms of power or its ability to move air, I would give
the fan a 6 or 7 on a scale of 1 to ten.
If you are looking for a quiet fan, this is not the fan for
you. Like I said, I use it mainly to generate strong white
noise to drown out other noises.
I will now give you a demonstration that will show you both
the air speed and sound quality or volume of the fan. I've
placed a sock in front of the fan to give you an idea of the
strength of the air speed. For each setting I will talk over
each to give you an idea of the volume of the sound. This
is the low setting. This is medium. And this is high.
I think I've provided you with all of the relevant advantages
and disadvantages of the fan. Again, I've owned it for at
least two years, and I'm very pleased with it. I recommend
it. Best of luck in your fan shopping.
