and Disadvantages of Fiberbeds -- Based On Data From 428 Actual Owners

Advantages
Good Value
Fiberbeds tend to be the lowest priced type of mattress topper.
When you combine this fact with their high customer satisfaction,
they tend to make a good value.
No Odor
Unlike memory foam and feather toppers,
fiberbeds give off little if any odor when new. Only one owner in
our research mentioned a problem with unwanted smell. This likely
means that the topper can be used immediately as opposed to having
"air out" first.
Ease of Cleaning
Fiberbeds can be machine washed unlike memory foam and featherbeds.
Some owners complain, however, that the bulky size of a fiber pad
can keep it from fitting properly in a washing machine.
Disadvantages
Questionable Durability
The data suggests that fiberbeds likely have at least somewhat of
a shorter life span than featherbeds and memory foam toppers.
Slides Around
In fairness, this is a disadvantage that applies to virtually all
types of mattress toppers / pads. About 6% of owners complained
that their fiber topper does not stay in place and needs at least
some regular adjustment.
Poor Fit
Again, this is an issue with all toppers. About 3% of owners say
that the dimensions of their fiberbed are different, usually smaller,
than the dimensions of their mattress. This may make sleeping on
the edge of a mattress uncomfortable due to unevenness.
