About Our Research
The research findings are based on at least 177 reviews / comments of actual Sunbeam electric blanket owners collected from diverse sources, including owner reviews on retailer websites, online message boards and product review websites.

Research Findings

Material
About 10% of owners included on our research praised Sunbeam electric blankets for their softness. Only a couple of owners complained of a lack of softness. The blankets are generally made from polyester or an acrylic / polyester blend. The blended varieties tend to get criticized by owners for pilling and shedding, while the polyester types do not.

Heating Elements
Less than 1% of owners in our research said that the wires in their blankets were too noticeable.

Heating Effectiveness
Owners generally said that they liked how quickly the blanket would heat up, while 2% wanted it to heat faster. Owners were overall pleased with the amount of warmth generated, but 3% would have liked more warmth than what the blanket can provide.

Durability / Reliability
The main reason there is only 39% satisfaction with this product has to do with its durability and / or reliability. The clear majority of owners included in our research said that their blanket was, within months after purchase, defective or at least frustrating to effectively use.
