Lunesta
Bad Taste in Mouth
According to our Lunesta sleeping
pill research that's based on hundreds of user experiences,
the most common reported side effect or downside of the drug
is the taste it can leave in the mouth.
About
half of the users of Lunesta included in our data indicated
that the pill causes a bitter or metallic-like taste or aftertaste
in the mouth that often remains for the entire time one is
on the drug.
Some Lunesta users say that the taste goes away or becomes
less noticeable over time, perhaps because they have gotten
used to it. A few others report that they have come to like
the taste it leaves in the mouth, comparing it to menthol.
Most, however, dislike the taste. Some users say that the
taste in their mouth hurts their appetite and, consequently,
they have reported losing weight since being on Lunesta. In
addition, several users have stopped taking the drug because
of the taste, regardless of whether the sleeping pill is helping
them to sleep better or not.
Some user say that they have success lessening or eliminating
the taste by using one or more of the following methods:
- Not
cutting the pill, but taking it whole, if possible.
- Put
water in your mouth first, and then take the pill.
- Wash
the pill down with anything but water, such as soda, milk,
juice, etc.
- After
taking the pill, don't lie down immediately or at least
sit up in bed.
