Longevity / Durability
20%+ of owners report a loss of support and or the development of significant body impressions ("peaks and valleys") occurring within three years of ownership. This rate is higher than the rate for both the average mattress and the average memory foam mattress.
Serta has recently to a large extent revamped its model lineup; it is unclear at this time if the new models will perform better than the outgoing models in regard to longevity / durability.

Initial Odor / Off Gassing
Off gassing is a chemical-like odor that a mattress may release when new. Serta iComfort off gasses somewhat less often and less strongly than the average memory foam mattress. See memory foam off gassing for general analysis.
Sleeping Hot / Heat Retention
A mattress that "sleeps hot" acts as a heat trap thereby undermining sleep quality. While the iComfort sleeps hot about as often as the average mattress, it sleeps hot less often than the average memory foam mattress.
Softer iComfort models are more likely to sleep hot than firmer ones due chiefly to the fact that the sleeper often lies lower in the mattress where there is less airflow. (See memory foam heat retention for general analysis.)
